Maintaining detailed records, calibrating laboratory equipment, and managing samples with utmost confidentiality will also be key parts of your role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect, label, and prepare biological specimens such as blood, urine, and swabs for analysis.
• Perform a variety of routine tests, including CBC, urinalysis, and microbial cultures.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments like centrifuges, analyzers, and microscopes.
• Record, analyze, and accurately report test results to physicians or lab supervisors.
• Maintain complete and confidential documentation of patient data and test results.
• Calibrate lab instruments and take part in quality control and assurance procedures.
• Follow all infection control and safety protocols rigorously.
• Properly dispose of biohazardous materials under hospital policies.
• Assist with inventory control and ordering of laboratory supplies.
• Participate in internal audits and ensure lab activities comply with accreditation standards.
• Keep the laboratory environment clean, organized, and well-maintained.

Qualifications:

• A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a closely related field is required.

Experience:

• Experience ranging from 3 to 5 years in a clinical laboratory is a key requirement for this role.

Skills & Competencies:

• Proficient in handling laboratory equipment, procedures, and medical terminology.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
• Demonstrates a strong commitment to patient confidentiality and adherence to professional ethics.
