This full-time Laboratory Technician position requires a professional who can perform routine and specialized lab tests efficiently. Additionally, the selected candidate will support pediatricians by ensuring the accuracy of results, maintaining laboratory equipment, and following strict biosafety standards. Because pediatric samples often require more care and precision, the technician must possess strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a dynamic hospital environment.
Perform routine laboratory tests such as CBC, urine analysis, stool examination, ESR, and blood grouping.
Conduct pediatric-focused sample handling with enhanced care and accuracy.
Prepare reagents, manage quality control checks, and perform calibration on laboratory instruments.
Assist in specialized diagnostic procedures such as neonatal screening and infectious disease testing.
Record and verify test results before reporting to pediatricians and relevant departments.
Maintain clean workstations, ensure proper sterilization, and follow biosafety protocols strictly.
Support emergency diagnostic needs during critical pediatric cases.
Enter patient data accurately into the Hospital Information System (HIS).
Identify abnormal results and immediately inform the senior laboratory supervisor or physician.
Monitor laboratory supplies and report shortages for timely replenishment.
Participate in departmental training sessions and clinical audits to improve workflow.
Work collaboratively with the nursing, emergency, and pediatric departments to ensure timely service delivery.
Diploma or Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) from an accredited institution.
Prior experience in a hospital laboratory, preferably in pediatrics, will be considered an advantage.
Knowledge of automated analyzers, manual techniques, and quality control procedures.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure, particularly during emergency cases.
Familiarity with pediatric sample collection, handling, and processing (preferred).
Willingness to work in shifts, including morning, evening, night, and weekend schedules.
Capacity to follow standardized protocols while maintaining accuracy and speed.
