Laboratory Technologist – Pathology Department Full Time Job

Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre (SKMCH&RC) in Lahore is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, and competent Laboratory Technician to join its esteemed Pathology Department on a full-time basis. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play an essential part in supporting accurate and timely diagnostic services that form the foundation of effective treatment plans. Qualifications:

• Recognized diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) from an accredited medical authority
• Preferably a BSc in Medical Laboratory Technology
• Valid certification from the Punjab Medical Faculty or the National Testing Service (if applicable)
• 1–2 years of practical experience in a pathology or clinical lab (internship experience may be considered)

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure proper collection, handling, and documentation of blood, urine, and tissue samples for lab analysis
• Perform lab tests such as CBC, LFTs, RFTs, glucose levels, and cross-matching
• Operate lab equipment, including centrifuges, analyzers, and microscopes
• Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of test results
• Follow biosafety protocols and infection control procedures
• Maintain records and data entry of lab reports
• Assist senior technologists and pathologists in specialized procedures

Working Hours:

• Evening Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
• Rotational evening or night shifts may be assigned as per need
• On-call availability for emergency lab cases

Required Skills:

• Strong understanding of clinical pathology techniques
• Ability to handle lab instruments safely and precisely
• Data entry and basic knowledge of LIS (Laboratory Information System)
• Capable of performing tasks with high precision and in full accordance with clinical SOPs
• Good communication and teamwork skills
