Nishtar Medical University & Hospital, a leading healthcare and teaching institution in Multan, is inviting applications for a dedicated and qualified Dental Surgeon to join its well-regarded Dental Surgery Department. In this full-time position, the Dental Surgeon will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive oral healthcare services, including diagnosis, treatment planning, and execution of a wide range of dental procedures. Key responsibilities include managing outpatient department (OPD) patients efficiently, performing restorative and preventive treatments, handling emergency dental cases, and ensuring that all treatments adhere to strict clinical safety and quality standards. The selected candidate will also educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment management, promoting awareness of long-term dental health within the community.

Collaboration with fellow dentists, dental assistants, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams will be central to ensuring continuity of care. Qualifications:

• BDS from a PMDC-recognized institute (preferably UHS or equivalent)
• Valid PMDC license
• Completed 1-year house job (preferably in oral surgery and restorative dentistry)
• Additional diplomas/certifications (e.g., RCT, Prosthodontics, Oral Surgery) will be a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform dental procedures including root canals, extractions, scaling, fillings, etc.
• Diagnose oral conditions and recommend appropriate treatments
• Ensure high hygiene and sterilization standards
• Maintain electronic and physical records of patients
• Provide consultation to patients in the OPD
• Assist in on-campus oral health camps and workshops

Working Hours:

• Monday to Saturday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• On-call duties: Rotation basis (once every two weeks)
• Average Weekly Hours: 40–45 hours/week

Desired Skills:

• Capable of confidently performing general dentistry and responding to dental emergencies
• Familiarity with dental software (e.g., OpenDental, EasyDent)
• Communication in Urdu and basic English
• Team collaboration and patient empathy
