Job Summary:

Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Diagnostics Assistant to join our expanding diagnostic services department. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include receiving, labeling, and processing specimens; assisting senior technologists during routine and specialized diagnostic tests; and maintaining laboratory cleanliness while strictly following safety and infection control protocols. You will also contribute to inventory management, uphold documentation accuracy, and ensure adherence to AKUH’s high quality assurance standards to deliver reliable and timely results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect and label blood and other specimens from patients.
• Prepare samples for testing and transport to the main facility if required.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety protocols in the lab area.
• Support the calibration and routine maintenance of essential laboratory equipment.
• Ensure accurate data entry and documentation.
• Support senior technologists and pathologists during routine diagnostic procedures.

Qualifications:

• Possess a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution.
• 1–2 years of experience in a diagnostic laboratory setting (fresh graduates may also apply).
• Fundamental knowledge of procedures in hematology, biochemistry, and microbiology.
• Familiarity with lab safety and hygiene standards.

Skills Required:

• Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Basic computer knowledge (LIS experience is a plus).
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Good communication skills in Urdu and English.
